You get hit by one of those guys, let's see what your face looks like,.

Oh, I must have confused him with all the other QBs who long for big hits.

Maybe he's the next Hostetler. The future is uncertain on that.

However, he wasn't the biggest need entering the draft, not by a long shot.

He's a back up as of now, you are correct, but how the hell can you even say that is all this guy is. He's got talent, hes accurate has a strong arm, he's got all the major qualities to be really good. He has issues that can be fixed and corrected. Secondly, he'll have a few years before the starting role is even a possibility for him and by then who knows how good or not good hell be. To say he's just a back up and thats all he'll ever be is in my opinion completely ignorant and unjustified.

Joe I do hope that if Eli ever went down he can win a SB for us, no doubt at all. But the infatuation some fans on here have for him is not warranted.

Actually Eli does not seem to be as affected by pressure as some other QB's. not hat he likes getting hit, but he has a way of staying healthy even when he does.

I know, he's great, unbelievable prospect, one of the best QB's ever to come out of the pro's...

Taken in the 4th round by a team who doesn't need a starting QB, they needed a backup, they got one. I hope that if the time ever calls for it he can step in and play, but if he was good he would of been taken earlier. I understand why RB's got looked up and other skill positions you can find talent in the later rounds, but QB's get looked over constantly because it's not likely you'll win the big one without a great QB these days.

we gave up a 6th round pick for a highly rated prospect which we clearly rated highly as well. i really don't get these 'omg we don't need a QB' threads. eli is 32, not 25. carr sucks so bad we may as well have coughlin as the backup QB. this is a low risk high reward play with a very good chance of giving us a decent chance of winning if eli goes down anytime after this season.

You mean a guy drafted in the 4th round and was passed over by his own coach in favor of EJ Manuel isn't the next Joe Montana?
