Point is, no one likes being hit. Eli doesn't shy away from contact; if he contorts his body -- a natural response -- then it's mainly only to buy some more time, or try to evade the rush to make a play downfield.

    Eli is tough s.o.b.

    I agree.

I'll be honest, though.....I'm probably harshing on him more than I should because I'm frustrated that Reese ignored linebacker.

If Reese had taken a linebacker in the prior 3 rounds, I'd probably have the rose-colored glasses on myself about Nassib.

But as I see it, the Giants used a 4th and a 6th to go after a position that didn't have anything close to the urgency of linebacker.

I really hope the kid catches on, learns the system, and could step in a win games whenever he is called on.....I also hope that down the road, he'll either be Manning's replacement, or else have enough trade value to get more out of him than the Giants invested.

But that doesn't help this 31st ranked defense.

That NFC Championship game against the 49ers was epic.

Turning your body away from contact is now a major flaw, yes let Eli take the hit straight on and get his ribs broken, lol. Some of the stuff people say are seriously just.... plain dumb.

Secondly, he'll have a few years before the starting role is even a possibility for him and by then who knows how good or not good hell be. To say he's just a back up and thats all he'll ever be is in my opinion completely ignorant and unjustified.
why wouldnt a Giants fan want the kid to be good??? its odd right. Eli wont be around for 20 years, giants FO has to look toward the future and to make the team as strong as it can in case injuries. maybe he wont be better than eli, but to get all upset and say he will always sucks, to me shows that you are a fan of a player not the team .

Yes, because he's terrible at it. He gets absolutely zero leverage, and always positions himself to take a nasty shot.

Except for that weird little dance he did when he tried to make a last second audible. That was so goofy.

I don't agree with the pick, but right now there are a few posters who are really in love with Nassib and are starting to think he's Andrew Luck 2.0, I'm trying to get through that if he was really such a great prospect, as a QB he would be taken even earlier than he should of. His own coach didn't even want him, he used him as a smoke screen to grab another QB. He's a backup, I hope he'll be a good backup, but if he was starting material he would of been taken way earlier.

I agree, we needed depth at LBer, CB, S, and we take a QB. It didn't make sense to me then, still doesn't now.

To speculate that a guy drafted in the 4th round, who was passed over by his own coach in favor of EJ Manuel, will be your future franchise QB before he even plays a down in the league is a bit pre-mature.
