Excerpt: "Ball State offensive lineman Kitt O'Brien went undrafted during the 2013 NFL Draft, but like most UDFA, he remained hopeful that a team would eventually give him a ring and an opportunity. And that opportunity, coincidentally enough, came on his birthday.
While talking to his Grandmother, who was wishing him well on his special day, O'Brien received a call from his agent who had some good news: the New York Giants had invited him to their rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis. He had also been invited to tryout for the Detroit Lions.
“It was like a dream come true,” O’Brien said less than two hours after getting the call. “It’s all the good things that I’ve always wanted and it’s coming to fruition.”
