    In order to be a powerhouse offense in the NFL you need an elite TE

    Good Lord I wish we had an elite TE...... I would trade Nicks for an elite TE no bull****..not that I would want to trade Nicks though obviously...


    The way some of these teams score so effortlessly & move the ball.... just makes me sad.. we have SO much talent on offense yet no TE to open things up & exploit the defense

    You also need a really good QB, a good offensive line and a good WR core. Chances are, if you have that, you can make your TE look good. Far from a necessity.

    Hmmm, not sure if I can agree with you there. It's nice to have, but certainly not needed to be elite. I can name many examples.

    I like Ballard, he's made some huge catches but MAN is he slow. And to be fair, he's also had some horrific drops as well.

    What's the point of even saying you would trade Nicks? When is the last time you saw an elite player get traded? I know it's cliche on these boards but this isn't video games.

    You don't need an elite TE, you need TE who is gonna simply catch the damn ball and make his blocks. The QB makes the TE who they are. Ballard can be the guy but he needs to stop dropping passes.
