After agreeing to terms on a one-year contract with the Cowboys on Tuesday night, RG Brandon Moore has decided to retire instead of join the team.
Odd. Moore, 33, "could not bring himself to get on the plane and leave his family," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He informed the Cowboys of his decision Wednesday morning. "I'm a man of my word," Moore said. "I hated letting [Cowboys OC and OL coach] Bill [Callahan] down." There were whispers late last month that Moore had thought about retirement, but he shot them down. He ends his ten-year career having started 142 of the 144 games he appeared in. The Cowboys are again on the lookout for an experienced guard capable of staying healthy. Aug 7 - 9:23 AM
