    Toadofsteel's Fantasy team 2013

From the 3rd overall pick in a 12-man:

    1 (3): Doug Martin RB-TB*
    2 (22): Aaron Rodgers QB-GB
    3 (27): Julio Jones WR-ATL
    4 (46): Reggie Wayne WR-IND
    5 (51): Jordy Nelson WR-GB
    6 (70): Ahmad Bradshaw RB-IND
    7 (75): Shane Vereen RB-NE
    8 (94): Eli Manning QB-NYG
    9 (99): Miles Austin WR-DAL
    10 (118): Jermichael Finley TE-GB
    11 (123): Rueben Randle WR-NYG
    12 (142): Washington DEF
    13 (147): Jake Ballard TE-NE
    14 (166): Josh Brown K-NYG
    15 (171): Bilal Powell RB-NYJ

My established starting roster week 1 is:
    QB Aaron Rodgers
    WR Julio Jones
    WR Reggie Wayne
    WR (flex) Jordy Nelson
    RB Doug Martin
    RB Ahmad Bradshaw
    TE Jermichael Finley
    K Josh Brown
    DEF Washington

Bench: QB Manning, WR Austin, WR Randle, RB Vereen, RB Powell, TE Ballard

*I picked Martin 3rd overall because I'm still not sure about Jamaal (especially with Andy "Throw the ball with a HoF RB sitting there with a thumb up his ***" Reid as the HC), and I left ****ty McCoy on the board because, well, **** the Eagles...

I'm trying to see if there's interest in Jordy for a good RB2 in a trade (as a couple teams are starting WR that Jordy could beat out). Got a couple of offers but nothing real so far. One guy I was really close to achieving a deal with was where I could give up Nelson to exchange Vereen for David Wilson, but he already had Ridley and backed out of the deal since, in his words, he didn't want two RB on the same team (having been burned by rolling Jacobs/Bradshaw... in 2011.)

    my question is:

Why would you pick up Eli Manning that early? Especially with a lot of players probably still left on the board.

    I don't like rounds 6, 7, and 8 at all.

If you can get miles austin in 9, I can imagine how much talent was left in 6,7,8

There was no real value for that pick available at the time. Anquan Boldin and TY Hilton were the two picks before that one, which I really wanted... I got forced into a pretty bad situation there, either take Austin with my 8th, or take him 5 picks later in the 9th (which I ended up doing) and picking up Manning.

As for the 6th, I was targeting Gronk, but he got sniped two picks before mine. I should have taken the Unicorn instead, but I thought maybe he would last 5 picks to my 7th rounder (plus I really needed RB at that point). He didn't last though...

Either way, the pack has a week 4 bye, and if a QB gets injured after that (someone like RG3), I could dangle Eli as trade bait...

Well, inexplicably, that's where Austin is going. He's gonna be a beast this year.

Eli is probably the only match-up-based starter that has no ideal match-up.
