He didn't really have much of an offensive system so I don't think he would have any problem using the triangle. Both guys are pretty solid candidates imo
I woulden't mind Kerr either. A darkhorse guy i'd like to approach is Mavericks AC Darrell Armstrong. People knew this guy was gonna be a HC 3yrs into his playing career. A true underdog who got the most outta his ability, had tremendous leadership qualities, and is not afraid to show some passion. He was all ready mentioned as a HC in waiting a couple yrs back.. Darrell Armstrong could be perfect for Phil Jackson, because Armstrong would have no problem hering him out, and doing whats nessecary for the better of the team.

Knicks fans, I have a quick question for you. Let's say that the clippers get the hammer and all of their players and coaches become free agents, wouldn't it be a no brainer to go after Doc Rivers and CP3 instead of trying to bring Carmelo Anthony back? You get those two, you will matter a lot sooner than later.

What do u guys think of the Chicago rumors ? Personally i would do cartwheels if we are able to do a sign and trade with Melo. Boozer and both their 2014 picks #16 and #19 . Best case is Melo taking a pay cut but since we all know Melo isnt going to take 15-17 million to play here "I dont blame him" this is the next best thing.

Then we can trade Chandler for Draft picks , if Shumpert isnt being resigned trade him to , tank as much as we can for a top 5 pick. We then would have a nice core of young players on cheap deals so when we go into FA we have aa decent supporting cast. I want to see us win an NBA title some time in my lifetime and while Melo is a great player who have no shot at winning 1 if he is making 25 million. If we give him a max deal its over until hiis deal is done

Carmelo Anthony reached out to obtain Pau Gasol's phone number to discuss the two playing for the Knicks.
This is one of the better signs for the Knicks that Melo is going to stay with them. Meanwhile, Gasol seems like he's willing to take a pay cut and could wind up with the Knicks, Thunder, Lakers or Spurs. Spanish teammate Jose Calderon also helps the Knicks' case and a deal could be done this weekend.

Idk why Lakers fans think that's Melo's number one choice. Delusional.

First of all, Kobe and Melo are the freaking same. They shoot..A LOT. They are going to spend more time on the court arguing than making plays.

Second of all, the Lakers are just as dysfunctional as the Knicks. Why the hell would he go to a dysfunctional team with an aging injured Kobe for less money, wtf? Lol

    Let's go.

THis team is crazy deep! I raved about the drafting of Tim Hardaway Jr and was fully on board with the trade for Andrea, and i'm also on record right now, as saying, this team will go further in the postseason then they did last yr! Confrence Finals at worst!
As long as the team centers around Carloser Anthony, they will be forever an afterthought

I don't get why were trying to give Melo the max. Did we not just watch Melos entire career with NY lead to nothing but a 1st rd exit, 1st rd win, and not make the postseason all together? NOT MAKE POSTSEASON in terrible , terrible eastern confrence. And the sad part is, Melo was actually really good.lol Its the same reason Denver never was a real threat for a title. He just don't do enough. Scoring is scoring. Thats it. Great he can score, but at his contract, you best be getting a complete player, ala Kevin Durant, Lebron James, and even Dirk Nowitzki.. To me, Melo's not worth 129million over 5yrs at all..

You get a guy like Phil Jackson, and can actually really have him build a team within a couple yrs, and you decide to hand string em with the same old problems of having a Max guy or 2 and very little money to do anything else with. We could literally have a blank slate after next season which would include a great draft pick, as we probably woulden't be that good, and a ton of cap space. And Phil's all ready done well at getting a few complementery pieces , and a couple young pieces who could possibly be pretty good(Early,Larkin,Greece Freak Bro). We also got 2 one dimensional scorers on the team all ready in Timmy and JR.

I love watching Melo when hes on, but hes just not a championship kinda player and is way to one dimensional for the doe he'll command. Start over for real, please!

I honestly think Phil is a great "chess player" when it comes to stuff like this. Carmelo has said he wants to come back to NY and would take a paycut. Phil told him the max is on the table. He can either leave and betray NY, take the max and go against his word, or do the right thing and take a discount to help assemble the rest of the squad.

Just like the whole Shumpert trade situation... that was being leaked from the Knicks and it never went through. Then out of no where Phil swings a steal of a deal sending Chandler and Felton to the Mavs. The same thing could be happening with the Pau Gasol deal. It could all be a smoke screen for a bigger/different play.

But if they do indeed sign Melo and manage to get Pau as well that will really set them up nicely for 2015 getting Marc Gasol. Calderon is apparently like best friends with the Gasol's and his brother would be on the team.

    Imagine a 2015-2016 starting line-up of

    PG-Calderon
    SG-THJ
    SF-Melo
    PF-Pau Gasol
    C-Marc Gasol

that lineup in the triangle would be insane. The Gasol's are great passing big men, Calderon is a great passer and his cash from 3, Hardaway is a good scorer already, and Melo is Melo. If they could pull that off somehow with some defensive/energy specialists off the bench that would be a really dangerous team.

That being said regardless if Melo signs or not (I think he stays and for a little less than max) I think Phil will put together a legit championship contender in the next 3 year at least.
