    Jay Bromley DT Syracuse

    He is 6'3 285 so he is not the biggest DT possible but he is getting a really nice number of sacks this year for a DT!

    Stats (ESPN) http://espn.go.com/college-football/...24/jay-bromley

    @Northwestern - 5 total tackles, 5 solo, 0 assisted, 1 sack
    Wagner- 3 total tackles, 3 solo, 0 assisted, 2 sacks
    Tulane- 2 total tackles, 1 solo, 1 assisted, 0 sacks
    Clemson- 4 total tackles, 4 solo, 0 assisted, 2 sacks
    @North Carolina St- 5 total tackles, 4 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackles, 1 sack
    @Georgia Tech- 1 total tackle, 0 solo, 1 assisted, 0 sacks
    Wake Forest- 4 total tackles, 4 solo tackles, 0 assisted, 2 sacks

    Season totals 24 tackles, 21 solo, 3 assisted, 8 sacks

    That is pretty dang impressive I think for a DT. Btw the Georgia Tech game statistically was his worst game and it was their worst game as a team this season also. It was the first time seeing the triple option and they got shredded.

    I would love to be able to see some tape on this guy. I haven't been able to watch many 'Cuse games because I do live in the Midwest so they don't show that many of their games and also I have worked most Saturdays. I did watch the Clemson and the Northwestern game and thought he was a game changer for their defense in the middle. I wish I could find some highlights or game tapes of him to show you guys but I think he is a very underrated player.. He is projected 5-6 on CBS sports. He was projected 7-FA at the beginning of the year so he is catching their eye as well.

    I can't tell if I like some of the Cuse players because of their potential or my bias.

    Bromley, Spruill, J Smith, Lyn, Eskridge, MacPhereson, Welsh.... I think they all have shots at the NFL. Nothing like Chandler Jones though. Last year my guy was Shamarko Thomas.

    I definitely might have a little bias towards Cuse players as well but Bromley having 8 sacks from the DT position 6 of them vs legit teams. The two vs Wagner is nice but nothing really to brag about haha. I agree that they do not have the clear cut defensive player who will play in the NFL this year so far. Bromley is probably the closest thing to it. I do like Spruill and Lyn on defense too. 6'1 CB is always solid to hear, especially with the new trend of bigger CB's...

    I do think Jerome Smith can be a solid NFL RB if given the chance too

    I could just see this board now if we were to take anymore cuse players..

    I love bromley and Jerome smith. I think both are solid prospects.. I think the OP mentioned Bromley's size has a potential setback.. All of that may get washed away with a solid combine.

    I personally, wouldn't mind to see one or both wearing blue next year..

    Yeah if we take a few more Cuse players there could be a few people freaking out haha. If they are good prospects I could care less where the come from. I do like both of them as well. Both at positions we could use some help as well

    He is playing Maryland any minute now. The same is on ESPN3 (on ESPN.com) if anyone is interested. I will be watching the game and going to be keeping a close on him and Jerome Smith

    He looked good. Only 3 tackles, but was in the backfield a bunch. Bromley looks like he could be a solid late rounder. that whole defense looked good. The playcalling was amazing. I wish the Giants would blitz like that!

    Spruill looked great today, as did Jerome Smith as always. I really think Jerome Smith is going to be a starter on Sundays and a pretty good one. Eskridge and Welsh also very solid efforts.

    Can't wait to see them next week vs Florida State. Im sure FSU is favored by 25 though. Jameis Squinston is a beast.

    Yeah the D looked really good. He was very close to getting a sack and forced the QB to step up and rush his throw which resulted in an INT. Eskridge looked really solid too I think. He can tackle and has nice ball skills. Spruill was all over the place, he looked really good.

    Smith runs so hard, he is a straight beast. He will be playing on Sundays no doubt.

    Forgot about Dyshawn Davis. Another solid LB for the Orange to look out for in a few years.
