    Another good article.....

    http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowbo...e-tested-again

....The Cowboys gave up 202 rushing yards in Sunday's 24-21 win against the New York Giants. If not for offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, the Giants might have had many more yards on the ground.

Luckily for the Cowboys, Gilbride wanted to throw the ball.

The Giants were the third team to eclipse 200 yards against the Cowboys, joining the Washington Redskins (216) and New Orleans Saints (242). Since Jerry Jones took over as owner and general manager in 1989, the Cowboys have allowed 200 yards in 21 games. Five came in 2000. Three came this year. Two came in 2008.

    What was wrong Sunday?

"I think there were different things," coach Jason Garrett said. "We analyzed it fairly quickly but closely and there were different things that came up. It wasn't one guy. It wasn't one thing, ‘Hey we were in the C gap,' or ‘The safety didn't come down.' On different plays, on each of the longer runs they had it's one thing on this play, another thing on that play, another thing on that play. What we need to do is address those things with each of the individual guys. Sometimes it was physical. We got blocked. We weren't able to hold that B gap because that guy dug us out of that B gap, but other times it was how a corner might replace when a safety gets cracked or how a linebacker comes over the top or comes over the top too far. Some of those things came up in the game as well. We'll address those things quickly with our guys this week and hopefully we can get those things rectified by Thursday."
Basically, the Cowboys were completely helpless against the run, and it took them until the post-game film session to even figure out what went wrong....and even then, their injury-riddled linebackers will likely get rolled by the Raiders this Thursday.

But, in the biggest game of the season, when the run was banging out 6+ yards per clip, we've got a guy calling for long throwes into the wind.

    Unbelievable.

Yes ! I was yelling at the screen often.

Especially when they keep going 3 wide. That was killing me.
During that game I was so wishing I could have been the OC
in my dreams of dreams because I would have ran out of the eye formation
until Dallas proved to me they could stop it.

Oh did I forget to tell you I would have the play action on 2nd down short 5 yd
out safe passes. Hitting Brown out of the backfield also. I would have even put
Hillis into the game on occasion with his pass catching skills.

Everyone once in a awhile I would have gone deep just to
stretch the field to keep the corners honest.

But man I would have pounded them into submission.

    Ratio 65/35 run to pass

Would have gone down the field easily like Grant took Richmond!!

Dallas just had no answer but to put 8 or 9 in the box which then I would
    have torched them.

But the key was to be more consistent with the run until
Dallas would have had to commit to more man power to stop
the bleeding. Gilbride did not see this he just didn't see what
    was so clear.

This was not me being a monday morning QB .

I was clearly yelling at the TV
KEEP RUNNING THE FKN BALL !!!!
