Why do we have to blame one or the other? Is it possible to like both of them and just admit Nicks had a bad year and it has nothing to do with Coughlin?

I for one like Nicks and still respect him but my eyes tell me he's not the same player he used to be.
Nicks production had nothing to do with Tom Coughlin. It certainly was effected by a poor O line and other weaknesses on the offense. But his play was not up to par.

Its the treatment of Nicks both by deed and public statements from team sources, including and especially Tom Coughlin that suggest to me that Nicks is not wanted back.

His injury history will keep his value down. Although his willingness to play hurt will help him.
...very strange response, but I'm on your range. And I would suggest that the history of Free Agency suggest that injuries will almost not be considered at all.

Can I ask anybody when the last time a WR like Nicks hit FA?

The problem with Nicks' value in the FA market is his ability to stay healthy.
I can't remember the last time a WR as good as Hakeem Nicks (when healthy) hit the FA market.

But even though the upside is tremendous, (as we have seen) his value is mitigated by the lower body problems.

-Oh and the mysterious team sources that ran to the media with stories of Nicks being late for meetings and missing treatments.
    - And just generally allowing Nicks to be villainized publicly without defending one of his players.

Plenty of reasons for Hakeem Nicks to feel wanted in New York.
Lol Tom spilled that to the media about Nicks?

If Nicks is back would you admit you were wrong?

I'm saying that the injury history will not be a factor. It surely will for most teams, Giants included, but the history of FA tells us that some team will look at the upside and jump big on Nicks.

If Nicks is back I would be shocked. And not just "Claude Rains" shocked......Really shocked!

To me the only chance is if he strikes out completely in the FA market and he takes a lowball offer from the Giants.

All that stuff is arguable at best....I can almost guarantee you with absolute certainty that if you were to hook up Nicks and Coughlin to a lie detector and find out what really happened in that locker room it would be a totally different story. There is so much that's kept in-house that we know nothing about

but 3 for $18 with $9 guaranteed would not be a lowball offer, correct?
