    Analyzing Kiper 3.0 : Giants

    http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york-gia...espnapi_public

Excerpt: "Now, this is more like it. After assigning the New York Giants an inside linebacker at the No. 12 overall pick in his first two mock drafts of 2014, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has altered his most recent mock Insider and now has the Giants selecting North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron.

Even if the Giants had taken a linebacker in the first round since 1984 (which they have not), the re-signing of Jon Beason makes a pick of Alabama's C.J. Mosley unlikely. Ebron, however, makes a ton of sense.

The free-agent market at tight end is underwhelming, and the Giants have been getting by for too long with one-year stopgap solutions at tight end. That bit them in 2013, when Brandon Myers flopped, and it's time to address the position for the long-term. Ebron is, by all accounts, an instant difference-maker and a freakish athlete who could enable the Giants to do things at the tight end position they haven't been able to do since the heyday of Jeremy Shockey. Eli Manning needs weapons on offense, and Ebron would give him a versatile one." Read more...

Is everyone ok with the 12th selection being a TE with questionable blocking skills? Sure, he's an weapon running around that we could select mid/late 1st. Or grab another in the 2nd or 3rd.

Aaron Donald please. Could you imagine the potential of a Aaron Donald, Jason Pierre Paul, Damontre Moore, and Jonathan Hankins Dline? Thats the Giants way!

His blocking isn't questionable. He's a fine blocker, but he's an exceptional weapon, so people assume he can't block. He's a big guy, with room to add weight, and is a fine blocker with room to improve. Yes, I'd be ecstatic to get him at 12.
    JR....do it, do it!

    1- Eric Ebron- TE
    2- Gabe Jackson- OG
    3- Weston Richburg/Marcus Martin- C
    4- Antonio Richardson- OT
    5a- Anthony Johnson- DT
    5b- Marqueston Huff- FS
    6- Aaron Lynch- DE

Piddy, he'd better be special. Balls thrown here come very high, low and behind quite often.

Posted a thread yesterday re picking him at 12. His blocking is suspect but as I pointed out he was not tested very much on the line. North Carolina split him out in most sets. The upside to him is that he is a 3 down TE so when they break the huddle the defense has to play honest against both run and pass in early downs. I believe he will be a good NFL player, some experts say he can be great. I just think its time to get a guy that Eli can spot over the middle that has proven that he can get seperation.

Unless a real stud falls to them like Barr

Kipers a complete toolbag. I'd glady take Ebron tho.
