He looked worn down. He wasnt throwing the split like he was to open the year. Splitter is a lot more torque on those ligaments in the elbow and arm. His fastball didnt have the pop. I hope it isnt a Tommy John situation, but it doesnt sound good. If thats the case, we wont see him again until 2016.

So, Tanaka, CC, Pineda and Nova.... Kuroda is next i guess?

    McCarthy
    Whitley
    Kuroda
    Phelps
    Greene

Time to sell whatever they can and pick up some prospects.

Any update on what Tanaka's MRI revealed?

I see he was placed on the "just" 15 day DL. Maybe there's a glimmer of hope that it's not too serious.

    No pressure McCarthy....

McCarthy settled down after giving up three "unearned" runs in the first inning, His Yankees debut: 6 2/3 solid innings in a no-decision. I'll take it.

    PS: Screw that stiff, Nuno!!!

Same thing that Harvey had. Just get it over with and have the surgery.

Those two words that we didn't want to hear are a possibility from what I have been reading

He'll need it eventually. They always do with tears, even if they're partial. It's just a matter of time.

So that's Pineda, Nova, CC, and now Tanaka. Forget about 2014. It's officially in the gutter.

They need to trade what they can. Learn from the damn red Sox... play all the young guys and see what they have for next year.
