Wild Card elimination magic number: 23

A combination of 23 Yankees' losses, and wins from either the Tigers, Mariners or Indians, and the Yankees are officially eliminated from playoff contention.

Eh, they were eliminated a while back, just not officially.

6-1 Red Sux. Why am I still watching? Oh, that's right, it's Jeter's last month of his HOF career.

Looks like Jeter retired as well. Batting under .200 since August 1st. The Yankees season is starting to unravel.

It's already unraveling. Beltran has one of the most idiotic baserunning blunders I have seen in a long time. These yankees are playing Astros style baseball. I just knew that they would piss away that 5 game winning streak.

I've never seen Gardner that mad. Of course the umpire showed him up and threw him out on a pitch that was like a foot outside.

    That pitch was waaaaay outside!

Oh well, the "official elimination number" is now at "21" after tonight. I wonder if the Orioles will clinch the AL East, when they're at Yankee Stadium during Jeter's very last home stand?
