    With Jon Beason --- 18.4 PPG allowed (4th), 303.6 YPG allowed (5th), 2.0 takeaways per game (2nd)
    (#s from PFF)

Add to that the fact that I believe those numbers "with Jon Beason" either begin somewhere from week 4 or 6. I can't find the article that posted the numbers specifically splitting up the season into the first 8 games and second 8 games, but IIRC in the 2nd 8 games, we were ranked no lower than #2 in all the above categories (they had omitted any points scored against us via offense or special teams, ONLY looking at points allowed by defense. And even THAT included, for example, the TD Oakland scored where we fumbled the KO on the 5 yard line and all they needed was those 5 yards to score). It also includes the game we got demolished by Seattle.

So, whoever said the Giants had "the worst" defense statistically... I don't know what "stats" you're using but perhaps make sure you're not looking at 2011's defensive numbers.
To be fair, with regard to the Beason thing, the level of competition diminished after that. You guys played 3 high seeded playoff teams from week 2-4.

Once Beason arrived you guys faced:

PHI: with Matt Barkley as QB
    MIN: Freeman making first start
    OAK:
    GNB: No Rodgers
    WAS: Twice

The games in which you all faced a decent offense again the Giants gave up an average of 28 pts per game. And really, Dallas played you once with Beason and once without. Overall scored about the same amount of points on offense (remember turnovers essentially gave us 10 points in the first meeting).

But the Giants were far from the worst defense in the division last year. Again it was pretty tough to move the ball on you guys.

Damn you and your inconvenient facts.

You've got some nerve showing up and and saying all this. Good day, sir!
