2013 QB Passing Stats: 3rd/4th-down with 9+ yards to go (see attempts)

Hard to be successful on third down with distances like that.

notice FLacco, the only other QB with near the amount of attempts under that parameter, and how his numbers are even worse than eli's. nothing new. thank you for the visual thou and statistical validation, but some of us (prob including you) have been discussing aspects like this for months now.

it ultimately doesnt matter to some. no matter what, they feel Eli should have done better somehow. even if there really wasnt much room for improvement. imo, the 1 thing eli could have done was take more sacks instead of throwing it up. but, as eli and others have discussed tirelessly, a sack doesnt give the offense any chance at scoring or making a big play, whereby throwing it up in hopes of the WR making a much needed play, at least provides some chance of that big play/score.

Eli had problems last year but there were a lot of factors that contributed to that. Sometimes all it takes is a couple big plays from receivers for QB to break his rut and he didn't get that last year. Not letting Eli off the hook just saying it's not all his fault.

With our OL I am not sure that any of this matters.
No one remembers who came in second.

I think this speaks a lot to how well (poorly) the OL fared on 1st and 2nd downs, particularly in the running game.

Im surprised it is that high on attempts, considering how many shotgun draws we probably ran.

Pathetic, and not just Eli, but the whole offense.

5 picks too in those situations and only a 6.35 yard average so what were they really doing there?? Trying to catch and run?

just a testement to how bad the O was. Even with that short average they still managed to turn it over 5 times.
