    KC Chiefs??

I can see where the Redskins name and logo is offensive to native Americans.
It's probably a ploy to get Snyder to change it.
Because the actual Redskins don't own the name anymore, now anyone can make a profit off of it and not get in trouble. Snyder's wallets are going to take a hit.

I think the Cleveland Indians "vintage cartoon Indian head" logo has got to go too.

The Redskins and Chicago Blackhawks logo's (almost identical) look respectful, and not offensive, but I'm not a Native American..

A change of their name is way overdue. Their arrogance and poor justifications never made any sense. The history of why their original owner named them that is all you need to know.

He should keep the name and change the logo to a picture of a red-skinned potato and trademark it.

    Washington Wombats....

The Redskins obviously don't want to change and are willing to go all the way in the courts if needed. It's ironic someone in the article would be complaining about taxpayer resource being used regarding the team's marketing of the name cause that's gonna be used for all the court battles ahead.

As well as all the press conferences so far....

Geez, just change it already. A complete rebrand would be a good thing for a team like that; they'd make a bundle off of fans updating their merchandise.

That's why I can't understand how Snyder can be so stubborn. After all, he charges his fans to watch practice camp.

This is a NFL owner's cash cow scenario!!

I guess its because of tradition. It wont be the same knowing them as something other then the Redskins. But Other teams have done it like when Oilers left Houston and became the Titans of Tenn. I know its different cause they left the State. Also the Browns leaving Cleveland and becoming the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore Colts to Indy Colts. Old Washington Generals gone. Montreal Expos gone. Washington Nationals formed.. but this being in same state just changing the name outright is totally different for fans of that franchise.. NBA with Charlotte Hornets moving to NO. but kept the name
Football has been very, very good to us.
Even though 2013 was a losing season, we can console ourselves with this fact-

    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
2-Washington, Green Bay, Denver, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
    3-San Francisco, Dallas, New England
    4-New York Giants!!!!!

    Let's make it 5 in 2014 !!!
