Rankings only matter after the entire season and post-season has played out.
My goal had been to win a championship, work toward the Hall of Fame, have my jersey retired by the team and I`d go in as a lifelong New York Giant, but I`m now resigned to the fact that this won`t happen. -- Michael Strahan, just when you think you're down...

Rankings generally are a waste of time. They usually follow previous season trends and that's basically it. Most of these people don't watch the games and only look at the stat line. Don't get me started on the nfl top 100, which has been a joke since its inauguration.

Years ago the teams didn't share the television revenue. The Giants received the highest payout from the NFL's television contracts ($175K) compared to the Packers ($35K).

With the belief that the league was only as strong as it's weakest link, Wellington Mara was instrumental in making sure all NFL teams shared the television revenue equally.

Fast forward to 2013 - the Packers received $187.7 million in revenue which is 1/32 of the league's $6 billion in revenue.

thank you for the clarification bro. Either way, this team has a history of helping to better and benefit the league. Gmen deserve kudos for this fact, Jerry jones wouldn't do it.

Don't get me wrong.. Brady and rogers are great QB's and such however, if the team doesn't gel... what difference does it make?

My research has taught me that the Tisch and Mara families bought and saved the NY giants back around 1925 and bought them for $500. their plan was to concentrate on being a strictly football team. no cheerleaders, no fluff, just hard nose football.

    We built this league:

    Vince lombardi came from us
    Tom Landry came from us
Parcells, belichick and coughlin all came from us.

The only ranking that matters is the one that we get when the play clock reads 00:00 at the end of the Super Bowl

The only ranking that matters is who's the final team standing in feb. The giants proved that twice in 07&11 as they were not ranked or thought of very highly at the start of those seasons
Football has been very, very good to us.
Even though 2013 was a losing season, we can console ourselves with this fact-

    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
2-Washington, Green Bay, Denver, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
    3-San Francisco, Dallas, New England
    4-New York Giants!!!!!

    Let's make it 5 in 2014 !!!
