49er fans chanting "We want Carr" just an year ago.

It's hilarious. Too bad for them, they can't have Carr either now.

They may get him in the last 5 minutes if we are up more than 30 points

I like Carr. Underrated backup I think. Not that I ever want him starting though lol...[:P]

I haven't really seen him play in years (no one has) but I think Carr is probably good enough to start on some teams. He never really got a fair chance to prove himself. His offensive line in Houston was just awful and it's no surprise he wasn't able to play well when he kept getting sacked. Because of this, I'm very happy to have him as a backup.

idk that they're that hungry for him now. coach harbaugh has those guys playing at a very high level. and while alex smith may not be a manning (eli, lol,) or a brady, he's also playing well, if he can continue to compete at the level that he has this season and the 49ers keep players around him he should do ok for years to come imo. this season he was little more than a game manager; 17tds 5 picks over 3K through the air, but with the way the team is playing they don't need him to be much more than that.

i mean look at mark sanchez, they put some players around him and he continually craps the bed, alex smith is a servicable qb and the way the 49ers play he doesn't need to be more than that. i'm sure they'll keep they're eyes open for something if an opportunity presents itself, but they're doing good with the team they have. yeah they have a weak division, but they still played balls out so far this season. i still think it will be NYG-25 SF-23 though, lol.

theyregood was leading the fans in wanting to get rid of Alex Smith. He was leading the chant and wanted David Carr to replace him. Now, he is calling Alex Smith the next Joe Montana because Smith has averaged a pathetic 196 passing yards per game and threw a measly 17 TDs in one season.

Yeah, a lot of fans were being stupid haha. It wasn't really about wanting Carr, more about wanting a change from what we had seen all season long. That's mostly just from Singletary being Singletary though.
