lmao!!!!!!!!!!! dude, u realise we OWN the patriots right? only thing keeping killer ELIite from leapfrogging brady is that 3rd strap, which will be here in approximately 9 months. plus, as an added bonus, eli didnt have to tape the patriots sorry as* defensive walkthroughs to get his 2 straps. we shoulda won that last game of 07 against those stiffs also but YALL got lucky. never understood how 1 of the greatest defensive minds to ever even look at a football, and by the way coached the greatest defensive player of ALL TIME with the champs, could turn around and field a defensive unite that resembles a disfunctional family reunion flag football game complete with wr's playing db. shameful. smh..oh well, i guess by reading your post i can kinda see how tito jackson feels about michael. beat it bum.

Actually, the 01-03-04 Patriots that won the 3 Super Bowls were known for their scrappy defense (and being saved by Adam Vinatieri field goals with time running out). Back then Tom Brady was just a decent good-enough QB not the GOD he is today.

I guess with Tom Brady's ascension to godhood they just rely on him and the offense so much that defense withers. When you've got this version of Tom Brady, and your coach likes running up the score, you are going to have track meets and shootouts not 6-3 defensive slugfests.

As for Belichick I'm not sure about XLVI but in XLII as Tom Brady was getting mauled Belichick was on the sidelines coaching up the defense. Heck even in XLVI we have the now famous "make them throw to Manningham, make them throw to Ballard clip".

And even in '07, the Pats defense was 4th in yards and points allowed. They weren't flashy, but they got the job done and were overshadowed by the offense.

I think BB's issue now is that he's not as much a personnel guy as people think he is. His drafts have been bleh ever since Pioli left for KC. His defenses aren't poor because of bad scheme, he just doesn't have that many decent players anymore. He needs someone in the FO that isn't genuflecting in front of his brilliance.

[quote user="Patriots18N1"]Yeah, it's sour grapes. I'll admit it. Can you blame me?
We were the first and only team to go 16-0 in the regular season. We went 17-0. We went 18-0.
And we didn't just barely do it... we did it in spectacular fashion. We were hailed as the greatest football team in the history of the NFL. We shattered just about every offensive record their was to break. We took spiteful allegations of cheating and rammed it ruthlessly down everyones throats.
We were absolutely unstoppable. We were going to force the entire world to say that we were the indisputable greatest football team that ever existed.

And you took it all away from us with quite easily the biggest bunch of lucky BS i've ever seen in my entire life. You didn't deserve to win that Superbowl - we did. We were supposed to go 19-0 and that was the way it was supposed to happen. You have no idea how emotionally devastating that loss was to us...

I'm sure you're laughing about this post so far. That's fine. I'm not afraid to be honest. You know who the New England Patriots are and so I have no reason to be insecure about my football team.

I really don't even want to "talk smack" to you. I did it with the Broncos. I did it with the Ravens. I don't even want to with you. It's honestly beyond tha

I just want to be honest.

I want to break your hearts.

I don't even want a competitive, entertaining Superbowl that goes down as an epic rematch.

I hope it's a blow out. I hope everything that can go wrong for you does go wrong for you.
I hope the Patriots sideline celebration can begin by the start of the 3rd quarter. I hope you have to play 30 minutes of football looking at the scoreboard and already knowing you lost. I hope by the 4th you don't even want to watch it anymore.

I hope we humiliate you. I hope we break your hearts. I hope we make you hate football on Superbowl Sunday.

I don't want to go into why you beat us this season. I don't want to dwell on the fact that Brady was injured, or that we were playing 3rd and 4th string players, or that Sergio Brown had no business playing cornerback and handed you the game with the PI in the endzone.

I know that isn't the Patriots you'll be playing in two weeks and so do you.

I just want to embarrass you. I want you to have reason to hate us in ways you cannot even fathom right now. I want to destroy you so badly that the NFL agrees that you didn't even deserve to be there - that Kyle Williams handed an inferior team a trip to the Superbowl.

I want to crush your spirits.

I don't normally invest a lot of emotion in any NFC teams, positive or negative, but I hate the Giants. I'll never forgive them.

I hope we break your hearts.

What the hell are you talking about? You needed a FG to beat the Giants to get to 16-0 in 07! The G Men matched your team point for point and put up 35 on your vaunted D....so to say you won all those games easily is just plain wrong!
And yeah...the Giants had a bit of luck in the first SB go their way....but if you know the history of your own team's SB victories, you have to acknowledge how much luck went their way too!
What wasn't luck however was the whooping our Defense gave Brady in both of our SB victories against him!
Your team stopped scaring us in week 17 in 07, and we've had your team's number ever since!!!
Take some alka seltzer if those sour grapes you're chewing on start to burn!!!
