    The Fewell Factor

So everyone has suddenly turned on Fewell and says he is the reason we are sucking, Coughlins to loyal to him, etc....

Well I agree he puts out some head scratching plays and doesn't appear to mix the blitzes up enough. He is not Lebeau by any means.

Well, the point of this thread is basically if we scrapped Fewell, who do we get that is better than him? I mean is their anybody else that we could pick up that is more competent than him? That would put our D in a better position to make plays?

Our D actually has played well most of the year. I put us getting trashed by the Saints is more on the players quitting and our lack of LB's than Fewell per se.

My point is: Good DC's don't just grow on trees. I just don't want to be stuck with another clown like Sheridan.

That is such a pipe dream.

And the Eagles will somehow get him. Everything always goes their way.

    It's one of 3 things.

    1. PF is a horrible DC.

    2. He has no confidence in his current personnel.

    3. The team is too depleted to field an effective D.

    What say you.

    Re: The Fewell Factor

Look at the players he lost. Maybe he can't do everything he wants to do with what he has to work with. Is he telling Tuck to dog it this year?

Not saying they would be the best defense, but Goff looked good in pre season as well as TT. It would have been nice to see Tuck play the way he did last year with Goff and TT looking to prove something. What if Prince is the real deal and after 10-11 games he would be on the field a lot. Just saying.

So you would rather have spags over cowher?
Football has been very, very good to us.
In the midst of this losing season, we can console ourselves with this fact-

    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
2-Washington, Green Bay, Denver, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
    3-San Francisco, Dallas, New England
    4-New York Giants!!!!!

[/quote]well. besides winning the SB of course

But yeah they somehow always get the best FA's. No matter who it is, he'll end up on the eagles.

I would tend to differ on this opinion. They signed a few high profile free agents this year, but certainly don't have that MO year in, year out. The Redskins and Cowboys outdo them on that front typically. This year was the anomaly for them.

You can't really put a name on who you'd rather have because the fact is, nobody knows how that guy would work out either. Could be a star D Coordinator who flops or a no name upstart who is suddenly among the best in the game. All I know is Fewells defense isn't working, for whatever reason.
