Mock Draft 1.25

    Round 1 -

Vontaz Burfict, ILB - Arizona State.... Kid has talent and needs a coach/organization/locker room that can help him harness his abilities. Giants have the foundation to make sure this kid fulfills his potential.

Lamar Miller, RB - The U..... After watching the 49ers game this past weekend, it is apparent that the Giants needs to address the running game. Jacobs didnt touch the field in the second half and Bradshaw cannot carry the load for the entire season. Miller is a smooth and patient runner.

Coby Fleener, TE - Stanford... Some people like Dwayne Allen in this draft, but I for one am a huge fan of Fleener. Monster target that can stretch the field. Big time athlete with great hands.

    Round 2 -

Brandon Washington, G - The U..... All ACC team his sophemore year at Guard. Then due to some injuries on the line he was forced to move to LT. Guy is built for the Guard position and he can get nasty in the trenches. Snee is always solid, but DD and Petrus are expendable.

Trumaine Johnson, CB/S- Montana.... Extremely versitile player that played all over the secondary in college. Guy isa smooth player and the Giants need help in the secondary. This kid can provide help at CB and S.

Dwight Jones, WR - North Carolina.... Another UNC Wideout! Giants need to keep weapons around Eli, especially due to the fact that he is at the peak of his career. Manningham will probably bolt for FA and Barden, Thomas, Hixon are done. Jones is a bigger version of Nicks with good speed.

    Round 3 -

Bobby Massie, OT - Ole Miss.... Big man.... would be a great addition to the O-Line. He would push Beatty and Brewer and compete for a starting role. Beatty has been awfuls since drafting him, the guy cant stay healthy and when he is healthy, he has been poor.

Chandler Jones, DE - Syracuse... Im a big fan of this kid. He is long, athletic and has good bounce in his step. His brothers are top athletes, (Bones Jones, UFC Champ and Arthur Jones, DT for Ravens).

LaMichael James, RB - Oregon... I feel that this kid might fall due to his lack of stature. He is an explosive play maker out of the backfield and in the return game. I think Scott might have some future with the Giants, but James can provide an explosive burst in the backfield and push Jernigan for the return man.

    Round 4 -

Jerry Franklin, ILB - Arkansas... Underrated player. Hard hitting linebacker that can be versitle. He can play ILB and OLB... and would be a fantastic guy for the rotation.

Ladarius Green, TE - Louisiana Lafayette.... Physically imposing TE that is more of a reciever. He needs to add some weight and develop his blocking skills. His talent is worth a 4th rounder.

Leonard Johnson, CB - Iowa State... physical corner that proved his abilities vs. Okla State. After CWeb and Prince the Giants are thin.

    Round 5 -

Mike Martin, DT - Michigan.... Stout... doesn't get pushed around and holds his ground well. He will be excellent in the rotation with Joseph, Austin and Canty.

Eric Page, WR - Toldeo.... Third down machine. Great hands and and superb route runner. Good speed and just another weapon for the best QB in NY.

Senio Kelemete, G/OT Washington... Versitile guy that is projected as a Guard in the NFL. He did a great job helping Polk become a good running back this past season. The guy is versitile and the way the Giants have been injurying prone, they need these types of players.

    Round 6 -

Jerrell Younng, S - South Florida.... super talented kid that has some raw ability. Played well overall for the Bulls. Grant is gone and the Giants need some depth at the Safety position.

Chandler Harnish, QB - Northern Illinois... Tough and gritty kid that has some good scrambling ability. Carr has be a nice back up, but the Giants need to consider developing a younger talent. This kid had a very solid season.

Donte Paige-Moss, DE North Carolina.... ultra talented kid that was over shadowed by Quiton Coples. Moss was a high recruit out of high school and his build and athletism would allow us to continue to use a 4 DE front on passing downs.

    Round 7 -

Marc Tyler, RB - USC... Strong kid that could be a nice goaline specialist for the Giants. Has some decent speed and he could be worth a look in the later rounds.

Nick Provo, TE - Syracuse.... Majority of the offense for the Cuse. Shows good hands and does a nice job in space to get open. .

Demarlo Belcher, WR - Indiana.... this kid was highly regarded as a top WR talent last year. Lets face it, Indiana sucks and thats the reason this kids production fell off. Big kid and could be nice pick in the late rounds.

Round 4 - Anthony Johnson, DT - LSU
Round 5 - Rashaad Reynolds, CB - Oregon State
    Round 6 - Andrew Jackson, ILB - W. Kentucky
    Round 7 - ** Traded for Jon Beason **

    Re: Mock Draft 1.25

Burflict is a guy I'm sort of struggling with. I like his potential but I always worry about guys like him that have character issues.

I'm a BIG fan of Miller but I just don't view him as a first rounder. BUT, he won't be around for us in the second so if we want him, we'd have to reach. I'm hoping we don't go that route because I like some guys that will be available later, but I could live with it.

I never expected Trumaine to be a 2nd rounder but as I've mentioned before we have to reach a bit for guys we want. I love his size and speed and just overall athleticism. Older guy as well. I think he'll need some time but I love his potential.

Senio Kelemete is a guy I've mentioned a couple times. I'd be ecstatic if we could get him in the 5th round but I think we'd have to take him in the 4th. I think scouts are going to jump on him when they see how strong he is.

The only pick that really stands out as someone I would disagree with is Massie.
I don't like Massie in the 3rd round. I'd actually say the 5th or MAAYBE the 4th. IMO he hasn't lived up to his potential and would be better off not entering the draft this year. I see zero chance he would push for playing time as a rookie. I do like his potential as a late round guy simply because of his size.

I understand your reservations on Burfict, but the talent is too hard to pass up. Miller is a gamer and can bust a big game at any point. He also has good strength and toughness.

Trumaine might be a bit of a "reach" in round 2, but like you said, due to the draft order the Giants may have to reach for a couple of guys that they like. This kid can really play and provides versitility.

Massie has insane upside. He has quick feet and can move well for a big guy. Maybe the Third round is a stretch, considering there is some decent talent in the draft this year. But, if the Giants like what they see, he may no last until the late 4th.

I would be surprised to see the Giants take Burfict. Just not the typical type of guy that the organization goes for. Also, with the Ravens drafing just a few spots in front of us I could definitely see them scooping him up to be Lewis' long term replacement. Just my thoughts...you know his attitude/effort and Coughlin would not mix well at all.

I'm really against Burflict, I'm not impressed at all
