NY Post: "...we were gonna take his head off."

    NY Post Article

Pretty good article on how motivated the defense was in Super Bowl XLII. Tuck, Osi, Webster, etc better have that motivation again and rub it off on the rest of the defense for this game. Take Brady's head off again.

8 players on the pats from 2007/2008.

    16 players on the giants.

don't know what that means, but it means something.

    Twice as many []

Actually the more players you have that have experienced the super charged atmosphere the better off you are in terms of keeping the younger players grounded in terms of the task at hand.

Yes. I mentioned this in another Thread about the Pats. I was really surprised to hear that they only had 8 players left from that 18-1 Team. I know alot of the guys they had were up in years but WOW. You have 53 guys on a roster plus guys that went to IR that season that you get back. Hard to imagine they lost about 85% of that team in just 4 seasons.

We are much better but not a whole lot with only 16 guys still there.

The positive about this current team is prob over half of it is really young players we can build with..

Football has been very, very good to us.
Even though 2013 was a losing season, we can console ourselves with this fact-

    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
2-Washington, Green Bay, Denver, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
    3-San Francisco, Dallas, New England
    4-New York Giants!!!!!

    Let's make it 5 in 2014 !!!

Well, providing we can keep them all in the fold and not lose them to FA

We also have Rolle who lost a SB who can provide that kind of experience too. Deon Grant lost a SB in Seattle too, as did Bernard.

Toby Ugoh was on that Colts losing squad.

i've been riding the 2007 comparisons, but i think that all ends with the kickoff

we are going to witness a very different game with very different strategies and most of the heros will include players that were not Giants or Pats in 2007

That's not what Tuck said. He was making an an anlogy by using a snake as the example saying the best way to kill a snake it to "take it's head off." Media hype at it's zenith lol
