Re: Giants given a gift
It's unreal how giants fans wanted to fire coughlin and fewell over a month ago and now everybody is gushing over them. You are either for your team or you're not.

let's face it....giants are in the superbowl because they got help from the refs on the bradshaw fumble in san fran. Everyother play during the game was played out except that one.

I understand that sometimes you get calls and sometimes you don't, it's just the nature of the game. they mostly even out in the end. But after the giants played the packers both times this year the fans whined and complained about calls that went against them. They even complained about the calls after they WON. But when you got a call your way in san fran you tell niners fans to quit whining. can't have it both ways. if you are getting a call you need to at least admit it.

The more ****y the giants are the more the balance tilts in pats favorite. Brady is going to run a clinic on your secondary with his tightends. Just like alex smith and VD torched it. Eli is not an elite QB. he looked like a pee wee qb against the niners D.
Not even close to the same thing.

The call on Bradshaw was not a fumble BY RULE. Forward progress is a criterion officials use, by rule, to make that call, and they did so.

The only people who question that are Niner Coaches and Niner fans. All the media folk who have reviewed the play and commented on it accept that it was the right call.

The fumble by Jennings in the Packer game, on the other hand was a foul up from beginning to end. First, one ref calls it a fumble. Then another ref calls it down by contact and reverses the call. Then Giants challenge the down by contact decision, and millions of us see the play in slow-mo and from every angle available. EVERY TV media person who commented on the play after seeing the replay commented that the ultimate decision to uphold the down by contact decision was wrong.

In the case of the Bradshaw non-fumble, the original call--upheld upon review--was based upon an OFFICIAL RULE.

In the case of the Jennings "non-fumble", the final decision was strictly a JUDGEMENT CALL that did not even have agreement among officials on the field, and that was--upon review--incorrectly upheld by the head judge.

    See the difference? No? Bummer.

Further, you could make an argument that the Ravens should be in the Super Bowl, not the Patriots, if not for the missed last second "chip shot" FG by an elite kicker. But you don't, do you?

Last, but not least, do not lump all Giants fans in one pile of stupidity.

Yes, it's true that there were several loud idiots on this board, and more than a few of the intellectually challenged sports "journalists, that were calling for Coughlin's head 6 weeks ago.

Guess what? Those same morons call for Coughlin's head EVERY year. And after EVERY loss every year.

Not all of us are so short-sighted that we cannot see farther than our beer gut.

Wait until next year, or if not next year the one after, when your beloved Niners don't make it to the playoffs (forget the Super Bowl)--primarily because your FO decides to retain Smith as your QB with a huge Kolb-like ridiculous contract and he falls on his face.

See how many of your fellow fans are holding to your "you are either for your team or you're not".

Especially when it turns out you could have had Peyton Manning, but you didn't go after him due to your signing of Smith.

And I especially enjoyed your dismissal of Eli's performance vs the Niners.

Even analysts--and HOF QBs such as Terry Bradshaw--who have been up and down in their assessments of Eli over the past 8 years, have ALL commented this past week on how impressed they were with Eli in that game, and that if they hadn't already admitted Eli was among the best current Qbs before last Sunday, they all do now.

Eli the "pee wee QB" dropped back 64 times--SIXTY FOUR times--and although he was sacked 6 times, yes, he had ZERO turnovers. ZERO turnovers against the "BEST TEAM" IN TAKE AWAYS.

As for Brady's "clinic" on our secondary. No one here will deny Brady can do damage, if anyone can.

But your Alex-Vernon "torching" of our DBs resulted in 2 plays that were TDs. Congratulations. You also had ZERO 3rd down conversions--and ZERO receptions by any WR--until the very end of the game when it was too little too late. And who won, again?

News flash--we have already played Pats this year, and were also "torched" by their 2 All Pro TEs, just like we were "torched" by Vernon.

And, just like in our game vs SF last Sunday, we won that NE game, as well.

    NEXT?

By the letter of the rule, it was the right call. Forward progress was stopped.

And let's not forget you got some favorable calls (like Vermin Davis stepping out of bounds). Eli got destroyed and not one roughing the passer call was made.

You lost the game on special teams. I have a friend I haven't seen in about a year that I bumped into last night and he's a 49er fan, I'll tell you what I told him.

49ers got great field position on returns. Risky but rewarding. Now what did the Giants do? Watch what Aaron Ross did on kick returns. Someone comes within 5 yards he curled up into a ball and dropped to the ground. Victor Cruz did the same thing. Why? BALL SECURITY. Your coaches didn't want ball security, they wanted good returns. And it bit 'em in the you-know-where. It's why they lost the game. Chew on that until training camp.

They weren't given a gift. They TOOK the ball from you because ball security wasn't important.

    LOL

    316 yards
    2 TDs
    0 INTs
Clutch 3rd down after clutch 3rd down. ALL DAY.

You threw everything you had at him and he JUST KEPT COMING. No fumbles. No INTs. So much for the "rattling" theory. You think you owned him, but take a look, he owned you.

Jealous much? LOL Alex Smith LOL

Was Bradshaw's forward progress stopped? So, you got beaten by a "pee wee QB"?

One significant difference between the GIANTS and the 49ers. The 49ers are in the "off-season" and the GIANTS..well...you know.

compared to alex smith....matt moore looks elite...just saying

the bottom line is, both teams each had the ball and opportunities to win, the giants didnt turn the ball over, the 9ers did, that was the difference. both defenses played great games and thats what it came down to.

First off, you are a ****ing moron.

Secondly, we didn't get **** on the Bradshaw play. Those ARE the rules. Too bad you're too stupid or too high to know that.

Tertialy, the plays in both the Packers games were pretty blatantly blown calls, or at the very least questionable. Unlike the AB call.

Fourthly, VD scored both his TDs on blown coverages. Outside of that he had ONE catch. Gronk and Hernadez are challenging match ups, however, neither of them have 4.38 speed, which ishow Davis was able to burn us.

Fifthly, Eli is at a level that Alex Smith can only have wet dreams about. Eli is a top-5 QB. Smith isn't even top 10. Eli sure looked Pop Warnerish blasting your defense for 316 yards and 2 TDs. And bouncing up like nothing happened after each hit.

Lastly, your mother was given a gift of a stack of singles on the nightstand by the man that spent last night with her. It's kind of funny, her nickname is VD, too.

Enjoy watching our players raise a Lombardi maybe when your team decides to bring your offense up to this centuries speed u will win one A Smith torched it alright under 50% completion percentage and completed 1 pass to a WR while being unable to convert a 3rd down.I guess that is torching for your pathetic teams offense though. Its all relative I guess
Oh, stop being a liar, Redeye. Smith converted that ONE third down play right as time was expiring in regulation. That means Smith is reppin' elite status.
