"The idea to give gifts to members who wore Patriots gear from Friday to
Sunday was changed to include people wearing Giants garb, Ms. Moquin
And former Giant LB Pat Hughes comes to the Giant defense:
"Employees yesterday were allowed to wear Giants jerseys, “or whatever
that other team's name is,” said Mr. Hughes, who recalls returning to
the area to play the Patriots at Harvard Stadium.
If Mr. Hughes hadn't played for the Giants, it's likely he'd
still be pulling for them. <font color="#000080" size="4">He's among many New Englanders who grew up
watching the Giants </font>before the Patriots existed in 1960.
“Obviously my loyalties are there (with the Giants) — both from a
youngster growing up in Everett,” he said. “That was really the team
that we had. The magic of that great Giants-Colts game in '58, called
arguably one of the greatest games ever played, that's where I truly
fell in love with the Giants.”
The ability to follow that forward and play seven seasons with the Giants was “just a dream come true,” he said.
