Giants' 10 biggest salary cap hits for 2017

    http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2...rt_river_index

Excerpt: "The Giants didn't have much salary cap space this offseason, but they still were able to make some big moves, including re-signing defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and signing wide receiver Brandon Marshall. With the team's major spending most likely done, here's a look at the 10 biggest hits on their 2017 salary cap:

    1. QB Eli Manning
    $19.7 million
Manning is entering the second season of the four-year, $84 million contract extension he signed in 2015. His cap hits are larger in the final two seasons of the deal: $22.2 million in 2018 and $23.2 million in 2019.

    2. DE Olivier Vernon
    $16 million
Vernon is entering the second season of the five-year, $85 million contract he signed in 2016. His cap hits increase in the final three years of the deal: $17 million in 2018, $19.5 million in 2019 and $19.5 million in 2020.

    3. CB Janoris Jenkins
    $15 million
Jenkins is entering the second season of the five-year, $62.5 million contract he signed in 2016. His cap hits go down in the final three years of his deal: $13 million in 2018, $12.5 million in 2019 and $12.5 million in 2020.

    4. DT Damon Harrison
    $10.6 million
Harrison is entering the second season of the five-year, $46.25 million contract he signed in 2016. His cap hits go down in the next two seasons before rising for the final season of his deal: $9.6 million in 2018, $8.6 million in 2019 and $10.85 million in 2020.

    5. CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
    $9 million
Rodgers-Cromartie is entering the fourth season of the five-year, $35 million contract he signed in 2014. His cap hit drops to $8.5 million in the final year of his deal in 2018." Read more...

If you want to play, you've got to pay.

Don't hate the player(s), hate the cap.

Could be worse. We don't have a QB on the bench getting paid 24 Million. If that were true we would be on thread number gazillion by now on that topic.

Their not on the bench. Dallas is getting zero return for the money. How can you not see that?

So Eli's salary of $19,700,000 isn't even in the "Top 10" on the "QB Cap Hit List", and is under a million dollars from being listed at 15, just ahead of Big Ben's $18,200,000 salary.
