Cool The 4th Annual" Do You Have the Chops?" Vol.4 (titwio's MOCK CONTEST) - 2017

PLEASE DON'T QUOTE THIS FIRST POST IT WILL CLUTTER THE THREAD
This has been tradition on the Giants forums to do this every year and no one has stepped up to take control of the contest. You can't simply copy the original text from the past mock contest without losing all of the formatting, so I reverse engienered the html code to **hopefully** have all the fancy formatting below. Edit: Yay, it worked!

All mock drafts need to be submitted by Wednesday 11:59PM. Also, please if you decide you want to make a change or add to your mock, simply click "edit" on your original post and edit your mock. There are time stamps on edits on the Giants' forums. Don't clutter up the thread with multiple mocks; One mock per person. If you edit your mock past 11:59PM on Wednesday you are disqualified.

    POINT VALUES ARE AS FOLLOWS

    * indicates total amount possible in one round.

    1st round: Correct Player = (*30 points) Correct Position = (15 points)

    2nd round: Correct Player = (*35 points) Correct Position = (15 points)

3rd round: Correct Player = (*40 points) Correct Position =(15 points)

4th round: Correct Player = (*45 points) Correct Position =(15 points)

5th round: Correct Player = (*50 points) Correct Position =(15 points)

6th round: Correct Player = (*55 points) Correct Position =(15 points)

7th round: Correct Player = (*60 points) Correct Position =(15 points)

7th round: Correct Player = (*60 points) Correct Position =(15 points)

Correct Player points are the amount you win by picking a correct player for that specific round. Correct Position points are the points won ONLY if you guess the right position (Example): 2014: RB in the 4th (Andre Williams). Position points are important because you're more likely to hit on that than the specific player and those points add up.

    *BONUS QUESTIONS* (3 TOTAL)

1 - (20 POINTS) - For guessing which round the Giants make *their first* trade in. If the Giants DO NOT make a trade then no sweat, no points awarded to anyone. You can't get a chance to win extra points though if you don't select a round.

2 - (20 POINTS) - If you guess which program (or school) the Giants draft more than 1 player.

    Example:

    Virginia Tech - (2012) David Wilson/Jayron Hosley.

    Or:

    Syracuse- (2013) Justin Pugh/Ryan Nassib

If the Giants don't do that this year, then again no problem, no points will be awarded. Again, you can't get a chance to win these points if you don't choose.

3 - TIE BREAKER QUESTION: How long do you predict the 2017 NFL Draft 1st round will last? (hours and minutes) In the event of a tie, this question decides a clear cut winner to the person closest to the time chosen.

***ALSO*** (*YOU DON'T NEED TO LIST THESE EXTRA'S IN YOUR ENTRY*)

    (20) ADDITIONAL POINTS will be awarded for any three consecutive answers you get correct. For Example: If you correctly guess DT, OL, LB in a row in your mock, you get 20 extra points. You do it six times in row then just double that to 40.

    (25) POINTS will also be rewarded if the Giants pick a player you chose but in a DIFFERENT ROUND than you originally selected. This way you still get some credit for getting that specific player correct in your mock.

AN ENTRY EXAMPLE LOOKS LIKE THIS:

    1) Forrest Lamp (OL)

    2) D'Onta Foreman (RB)

    3) Saul Goodman (CA)

    4) etc...( )

    5) etc...( )

    6) etc...( )

    7a) etc...( )

    7b) etc...( )

    Trade: 4th round

    School: Louisville

    Tie breaker: 3:11

That’s all chaps. HAVE FUN and good luck to all.

My fault, I didn't see that thread! Maybe we can run them concurrently or if people want to use the other thread that's cool. I wanted to get all of the rules into the OP and give it the proper title for the future generations. They will say: "But what happened to the 4th annual version of the contest, it doesn't exist, I can't find a thread with that title". Now they can't make that excuse. I'm doing it for the kids in the future.

You could always copy and paste your mocks in here too. Or I could copy them over. It is up to ya'll. This is Gee718's baby. He did it last year. It's up to you G.

Feel free to run it. I'll help out if you need it. Ask RF to combine and sticky yours since you named yours officially. Then use the picks already posted so there is no confusion.

What did you do last year in terms of player positions? For instance someone above has Malik McDowell listed as a "DE" but he's really a DT. Do you just combine all DE/DT together as DL in your scoring and all OT/G as OL. Some players get a bit questionable as to what their real position is in the NFL. They could be listed as LB on NFL.com but they might be more suited as a DL... someone like Tyus Bowser comes to mind.
