    LOL and exactly who were those TE ahead of him? He is C grade as an NFL TE (generous) and he climbed over D grade (generous) guys in front of him. Donnell is gone isn't he?
    No one remembers who came in second.

    I had to go look at the TEs drafted that year, pretty terrible year for TEs. Being better than other terrible TEs doesn't make him good. I appreciate what he did for us, but we needed improvements at TE.
    LT (132.5) -> Strahan (141.5) -> Osi (65) -> Tuck (60.5) -> JPP (50) -> ???

    We're going to be much better at the position now, as we have a blocking specialist AND a dynamic playmaker at the position.

    And probably special teams too. I think he ends up earning that contract.

    If Tye is still in the mix, then we are not deep at all.
    Tye as the 3rd te behind Ellison and Engram?? Imo that's enough depth.

    Probably true.
    Comparing him to his Draft class is pointless. You should be comparing him to other TE in the league. Compared to other TEs. He is mediocre to below average.

    He is not a good blocker. If he was, there would be no need for Ellison. He has a career average under 30 yds per game. He is not a scoring threat ( 4 career TDs). He has been a 3rd down guy . With Engram drafted Tye may lose that role as well. Adams is going to be kept for depth. Tye is on the bubble.
