    Next year !!!! retool time

First off congrats to all giants players for excellent year. Every single player deserves props even if they will be gone next year. The whole team got it done.

    Now moving forward

    Needs in no order

    3rd down specialist rb/kr

Giants for years could use a scat back or a 3rd down back !! This has been ignored for some time since D Megget days. I think having this type of player on obvious passing downs will really benefit our wr's and our QB and make our offense a little more explosive. Could you imagine a Sproles in our back field ? ok maybe not him because Saints would never part with him but someone like that. I love Bradshaw and BJ but they dont have this type of element to their games. It would be a luxury

TE - I really like Ballard and Pascoe and even Bekhum which at first couldnt stand but we could use a bigtime play maker as the TE is huge these days. Again just like the 3rd down back imagine this offense with a bog time TE ?

Now thats it for offense, I do think McKenzie needs to be upgraded weather that is in house or draft or FA.

    Defense

Safety - Grant needs to be replaced, although smart and all that, he missed a lot of tackles and is getting up there in years. Adding another safety with Range and covering ability would be nice. Mid round pick.

DE- yea thats right, Osi will most likely be gone with the emergence of JPP and that leaves only Tuck. Kiwi will stay at SLB and of course he is interchangeable but we will draft one. Dont be surprised.

DT- I would add another here.

Really I think that is all we need to be even better. We have stars everywhere and I would assume we are resigning guys like Cruz, A Ross etc.

Plus our guys last year that were hurt like TT, Goff, Austin etc will be back.

I like the makeup of this team.

    HAHAHAHA

You predicted a 4-12 record for a team that won the Super Bowl . . . . forgive us if we laugh at your ideas about how to "retool" this team . . . . .

Yeah my ideas were horrible. So your idea would be stay put and not retool and we will win again without any changes as you predicted this year !!

Re: Next year !!!! retool time

The O-LIne is gettinng up there in age too. Needs more depth. I think McKenzie could be in trouble, at least of losing his starting spot if Giants can find another left tackle. Petrus showed he can play. Look for his role to be expanded next year. Hope Beatty can come back fromt that eye injury.
What about Brewer? Will he ready to step on the field next year? He's a monster at 6" 8', but I hear his blocking skills really need refinement

Re: Next year !!!! retool time

I think the O-line needs to be blown up. Keep Snee, everybody else's job is in jeopardy.

We need a new RB. Jacobs is probably not back, and he's done anyway. Bradshaw's on two bad legs he can stay but time to plan for life without him.

Unfortunately I think our TE corps is wrecked. Ballard has now blown both knees.

We probably can't keep Manningham but we've got guys waiting in the wings (Barden, et al) and it wouldn't hurt to draft one or more...

    RESIGN WEATHERFORD NOW!!!!!!

Osi's probably gone, so yes we need a new super-sub DE.

Maybe some CBs because we got wrecked, don't know how we made it as far as we did with those devastating injuries, and we don't know about Ross being resigned or TT's health leading to a signing.

    In my opinion:

Thank Brandon Jacobs, Domenick Hixon, Deon Grant and Rocky Berhnard for all of their hard work and wish them luck. Say the same thing to Osi and look for a trade partner outside the conference (Hey San Diego, you still want Osi?)

Resign Mario Maningham, and lock up Victor Cruz. Give out one year tenders to Terrell Thomas, and Chase Blackburn.

In the draft look for Oline depth/help, te, rb, and lbs, and whatever defensive help we need.

That's about it and we are ready to repeat.

Re: Next year !!!! retool time

Since Nicks and Cruz will be UFA next year, we need to sign them to extensions this year. Therefore, unfortunately we are going to lose Mario Manningham. This is something Giants fans will have to accept in order to hold onto Cruz and Nicks.

We cannot lose Osi, unless he is traded for at least a 2nd round pick. He is our pass rushing speed guy. JPP is more of a Tuck, we don't have another Osi. Let him sit out the season, he will come back.

Give Blackburn, Goff, TT all one year incentive laden contracts. If they don't want them, see you later.

Say goodbye to Ross and Grant (unfortunately, since he is such a character guy)

Say goodbye to Jacobs, and sign a smaller more powerful guy who doesn't tip toe to the line behind Ahmad Bradshaw.

We NEED to draft Oline and Dline. Our defense especially lives and dies by the Dline, so we cannot have enough depth and pass rushers.

Our Oline was shaky at best this season, and we need to significantly retool them.
