No Ballard or Beckum for 2012

With both tearing their ACLs in the Super Bowl it's more than likely they don't play in 2012.

Does that put Dwayne Allen at the top of our draft boards?
I don't always root for the Cowboys but when I do I wear my pink Jessica Simpson edition Romo jersey. (yes I lost a bet)

Dwayne Allen or Coby Fleener would look mighty fine in a Giants uniform

Yeah I'm thinking Oline might still be more important.

Also we'll need to draft a DE considering Osi is gone after next year.

We tend to use TEs as blockers first and receivers second.

Getting some hard-core passing threat TE who's below average at blocking doesn't really fit how we use a TE.

We'll never throw 100 balls at our TE, we're better off getting someone who can block with average receiving skills.

It has to be allen in the first. the stanford te can not block well enough for us.

[/quote]Allen and Fleener both have the frame to become decent blockers as well.

In fact, Dwayne Allen would often go 1-on-1 with his old buddy Da'Quan Bowers in practice on working on his blocking skills. I'm sure he would do the same here and would get good experience dealing with JPP, Osi, and Tuck.

True but the Beckum experiment would disagree with you (at least in desire) and we still have Pascoe who is a good blocker and Hynoski who actually played a blocking TE rather well when filling in.

They definetly will have to look that way early in the draft.
