They played in the NFL Championship Game in 1966 and 1967 but lost to the Green Bay Packers so we would still be behind by one.
1966 is the first year of the Super Bowl being played (the first two were called the AFL-NFL championship game) so the NFL Championship Game was no longer the "final" title game at that point. Even though it was still being called the NFL championship until the merger was completed in 1970, it functionally became the NFC Championship that year.

True. Anyways, It doesn't really matter we will surpass the Dallas Cowboys in the next few seasons.

Giants were coming for #5 back in 1986. They have 8 NFL championships. The only 4 Super Bowls that were not that were numbers 1-4. Since then. The Super Bowl has been the NFL Championship game. Now unless I have been counting wrong all my life. 8 is a bigger number than 5. I would expect a Cowboys fan to say this drivel. Not a Giants fan.
Only the Bears, and Packers have more than the Giants. Bears 9. Packers 13.
The problem is if we say that then that means the Eagles have won something.
Yes!

Although we do technically have 8 total, let's talk about the Superbowl era just for the sake of the Eagles franchise lol.

Your logic is flawed. Because I would expect a Cowturd fan to say this. Not a Giants fan. Show that you actually respect the true history of the NFL. Because most Cowturd fans don't. They think that the NFL didn't have a championship prior to 1966. And, when they get proven wrong. They then state. "Only Super Bowls count".

I'm glad to see this nonsense of the world beginning in 1966 is starting to fall away and they're slowly reminding people of the old NFL championships.

I'm all about honoring the legacy, and really if you play this game, then which titles do we throw out in MLB, NBA, and NHL?

But yeah in the Eagles case, and for beating the Cowboys on their own terms, I'm all for it

1 more little detail Steelers also have 0 Championships prior to the Super Bowl. In fact until Super Bowl 9 their Championship win total was 0.
Here's a good one for the Redskins fans that might be lurking here. Remember the 1940 NFL Championship game Bears 73- Redskins 0. No that ain't a typo. The most lopsided score in NFL history.

It's worse than that. From their founding in 1933 through 1973, they didn't even make the playoffs once. NOT A SINGLE TIME.

Technically there was a play-in game in the 40s where the standings were even at the end of the regular season and they played the game to see who would make the playoffs, and they lost that too.

The Steelers were one of the worst franchises in the NFL for their first 40 years. They also merged with the Eagles during WW II and the Philly-Pitt Steagles due to player shortages.

That's the spirit. Just be careful. The Cowboys, and Vikings fans have paper trophy parades every season. Cowboys since 1997, and Vikings since 1961. Last thing we want is the Giants fan base to think that a paper trophy is just as good as a real one.

That was the game that they debuted their black helmets also. And also the Steelers merged with the Cardinals also. They were officially called the Card-Pitt. s

Dude calm down, it's a joke
I took it as a Joke. I was just replying the truth. Also I just changed the title to show the Truth. Cowboys stadium is not located in the City of Dallas, nor can you see the city of Dallas from it. I feel, and have always felt that the City that you play in is what you should be named. Giants stadium new one I assume has the exact same view of New York City that the old one had.
But, I never refer to them as New York. I call them New Jersey. Same for the Jets.
